Weekend Preview: Basingstoke Bison Vs Hull Seahawks

Tomorrow we welcome the Hull Seahawks to Planet Ice Basingstoke for our 2nd home game of the 2026/27 Planet Ice National League season.

The Seahawks began their league campaign with wins against Leeds Knights and Solway IHC.

The Bison, superbly led by captain George Norcliffe, also picked up a 4-point weekend with a pair of 7-4 victories against the Telford Tigers and Peterborough Phantoms.

Saturday night's game against Telford attracted a near capacity crowd of just over 1,200. The Wall of Sound were in outstanding form all night, providing a cracking atmosphere from start to finish.

The energy levels this support creates really does make a difference, and it's certainly appreciated by the players. Make sure you're there on Saturday to play your part.

Ones to watch:

Basingstoke Bison: Charles Farmer (No. 19)

Our newly arrived Canadian forward has quickly settled into his role with the team, instantly becoming a fan favourite. His skilfull hands and an eye for the right pass soon showed what an asset he will be for the Herd this season.

In the opening 6 games, Farmer has chipped in with 4 goals and 6 assists, as well as creating numerous other opportunities.

Hull Seahawks: Johnny Corneil (No. 9)

Seahawks' Canadian forward Corneil has kicked off the new season in spectacular style. Pre-season saw him score 3 times in 4 games, along with 2 assists.

From the opening weekend of league action, he netted a further 3 goals, giving him an impressive 6+2 return from 6 games.

Face Off

The puck drops at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 5:30pm. 

If you haven't already got yours, tickets are still available to purchase, both online and at the door on the night.

Little Frankies entrance will be open from 5:00pm for Season Ticket holders and access to the cafe.
