Match Preview: Basingstoke Bison Vs Peterborough Phantoms

This Saturday, we welcome the Peterborough Phantoms to Planet Ice Basingstoke for our third home game of the 2026/27 Planet Ice National League season.

The Phantoms, coached by former Bison Ash Tait, currently occupy 6th place in the league standings with 2 wins and 2 losses, including the Bison's 7-4 win at the Bretton rink last month. There's no doubt the Phantoms will be looking to avenge that result on Saturday night.

Attendances so far this season have been impressive. The energy this level of support creates really does make a difference. The players certainly appreciate your support, and it undoubtedly played a part in helping the team over the line against Hull last Saturday.

Ones to watch

Basingstoke Bison: Sota Isogai (No. 14)

Our new Japanese forward has instantly made himself a fan favourite in his short time with the Herd. In 4 league appearances, Sota has found the net 6 times, including a hat-trick in Peterborough, coupled with an assist to give him a total of 7 points this season so far. Currently, his 6-goal tally makes him the league's leading scorer.

Peterborough Phantoms: Adam Berg (No. 21)

Phantoms' 6' 1" Canadian forward has quickly settled into National League hockey. In 4 appearances, Berg has registered 4 points, with 1 assist and 3 power-play goals.

Face Off

The puck drops at 6:30pm, and doors will be open from 5:30pm. If you haven't already got yours, tickets are still available to purchase both online and at the door on the night (if there are tickets remaining).

Little Frankies entrance will be open from 5:00pm for Season Ticket Holders and for access to the cafe.
