The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce that defenceman #15 Ty Cathcart has re-signed for the 2026/27 season.


The 22-year-old returns for another year in Basingstoke after making 53 NIHL National League appearances in his first season with the Bison senior team during the 2025/26 campaign, recording one goal and six assists while continuing to establish himself as a reliable presence on the Bison blue line. Cathcart is a product of the Bison Academy who has remained local,  playing for Slough Jets and the Berkshire Bees before returning to the Basingstoke Bison NIHL side. The young Brit has continued to develop his game and will be looking to build on a promising first season in a Bison jersey.

“I’m really pleased that Ty is back with the Bison for another year. As a Basingstoke lad and a product of the junior development, he knows exactly what it means to represent the club. I’m looking forward to working with him again and seeing him build on the positives from last season.”




On returning to the Herd, Cathcart said:
