Bison fans it wasn’t a dream, we really did achieve back-to-back 4-point weekends.
The most recent began with beating Sheffield Steeldogs 1-0 in front of a packed Barn on Saturday night, thanks to a Zack Milton goal and a 36-shot shutout from Max Wright.
A remarkable victory followed on Sunday in Peterborough, the Herd were trailing 1-3 with less than 10 minutes left in regulation, goals from Adam Harding and Tom Relf forced the game into overtime.
The additional 5 minutes failed to find a winner for either side, which led to a penalty shootout, where Brendan Sellan and Luke Spadafora converted their shots to complete another profitable weekend for the Bison.
This weekend, we look to extend our unbeaten run to 6 games.
Standing in our way will be 4th placed Telford Tigers, we welcome them and their fans to the Basingstoke Arena.
Among their ranks will be the leagues leading points scorer, Canadian import forward David Thomson, with 34 pts (15+19) from 18 games.
Games between the two teams guarantee goals, our visit to Telford earlier this season produced 12 goals, although ultimately a 5-7 defeat for the Herd. Telford are currently averaging 4.39 goals per game, while conceding 4.28 per game.
With the way the Bison have been performing in recent weeks and our opponents scoring stats, anyone lucky enough to be in attendance on Saturday night will without doubt witness a thrilling game of hockey.
Face-off is 6.30pm.
