Basingstoke Bison Announce Signing of Forward Evan Nauth
The Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old forward Evan Nauth for the 2025/26 Planet Ice NIHL National season.
Born in Weybridge, England, Nauth brings both domestic and international experience to the Herd, having developed through the junior system in Guildford before spending several seasons competing in Canada.
A product of the Guildford Flames youth programme, Nauth first made his mark with the Firestars and Firekings, where his scoring touch quickly became evident. He posted standout numbers at U15 and U18 level, including a 35-point season in 2017/18 with the Firestars and a point-per-game campaign for the Firekings in 2019/20.
In 2020, Nauth made the move across the Atlantic to continue his development, joining Bourget Collège Volts U18 in Québec before stepping into Canadian junior hockey. He iced for the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears in the EOJHL and later suited up for the Gatineau Flames in the QJHL. Most recently, he split the 2024/25 season between Gatineau and Smiths Falls, where he contributed a combined 24 points across regular season and playoffs.
Standing 5’9” and 150 lbs, Nauth is a left-shot winger known for his speed, work rate, and ability to generate offense in tight spaces. His versatility and energy are expected to be strong assets for the Bison as they build toward a competitive campaign.
Nauth, who is eager to begin his first senior season back in the UK, said "“I’m super excited to join the Bison. We have a great group of guys who I’m looking forward to playing with. And can’t wait to get the season started."
The Bison would like to welcome Evan and his family to the club and look forward to seeing him in action when the new season gets underway.
